Getting the balance right between family and business is almost an impossible task. How will you cope with this?

You also need to check out the legalities of working in a business from your home. If you are in rented accommodation for instance, is it acceptable. Will the landlord allow it?.

If you have a mortgage. Is it acceptable to run a business from home, based on your mortgage contracts?

Working online from home is favoured by a lot of people, because although you're sitting in your home. You don't have the problems of holding stock and staffing levels, it can all be done by yourself. All you need is a desk and a computer to start off with.

If you decide to work at home, and use the Internet as the main source of your business. You will find that there are many different areas work that you can do. One of the main things that people do online is becoming an affiliate of the company, and advertise their products or services.

It is highly recommended that if you are looking at becoming an affiliate in a home-based business. You do some research on the types of products and services that are easy to promote through the search engines. This will define, what niche market place You decide to be in. It is recommended that you pick a niche that you have some knowledge on on the product or service available.

This could be based on prior jobs that you have done, maybe even a hobby. It might be that you decide to sell products or services related to things that are regularly mentioned in the news or on TV. This is called popular/trend marketing.

You could go directly to the site called commission Junction which allows you to become an affiliate of many different companies, and you can go into their directory of companies and decide which products or services that you would like to advertise using their affiliate links. Many top brands are registered within the commission Junction, give wide variety of graphic banners, offering different promotions to each of the companies that are listed.

You can also go to a site called Amazon and create an affiliate account with them. They have a very similar setup and allow you to decide on the books or music DVDs etc that you would like to advertise. They give you all the relevant advertising material that you will need to promote their site. You can target particular markets, based on country using Amazon as you can have an affiliate account is set to your own country. Or alternatively go for another country that has a bigger market audience, such as the USA. It's your choice is your business.
